       Alfred let out a small sigh. It was quite unusual for him to be this quiet. It was unusual for the teenage American to be quiet at all. But, at the moment his mind was focused on something else.  

      Or someone else. Who was this someone, and why was this person so important to Alfred, important enough to keep him quiet and slightly troubled?

      This someone was no other than Alfred's best friend, (Name). The (blonde, brunette etc.) was beginning to drive him insane, he loved the girl so much. If he loved her so much, then what was keeping him from telling her? Once more it wasn't a what it was a who. Who was this obstacle, the person who interfered between (Name) and Alfred? Well, this who was none other than Allen Jones. Who exactly was Allen? Alfred's cousin who happened to be the same age as him and happened to go to the same high school. Why exactly was Allen an obstacle? Simple, (Name) was Allen's girlfriend.

     Alfred still didn't understand and would never understand why (Name) was with a guy like his cousin. Allen isn't exactly the nicest, sweetest guy in the world. Heck, he wasn't nice or sweet at all! Why was (Name),a smart, sweet and kind girl with Allen, violent and what one might call bloodthirsty? It didn't make any sense. How could (Name) love such a heartless jerk like Allen?

       (Name) looked at her reflection in the mirror. A big, ugly bruise was planted on her left cheek, staining her porcelain-like skin. The bruise stung slightly, it felt like tiny needles poking her cheek.

     With great care and gentleness, she began to dab make-up to conceal the mark. She could not go out in public like this! And, Alfred would get worried and begin to rant about how she should break-up with Allen.

      'Al won't hit me again! I know he won't! I just provoked him! Yeah, that's it!' The broken female managed to convince herself. In all reality, (Name) did love Allen.

     The female's (e/c) orbs began to fill with tears. She loved Al so much, and he said he did too. But she was beginning to doubt it. But, how could she know, this was her first relationship and all. Before she could stop herself, the tears began to spill from her (e/c) eyes.

    She walked out of the restroom and laid down on her comfortable, fluffy bed. The tears continuously spilled out of her eyes. (Name) didn't feel like going out anymore. She would have to cancel her plans with Alfred. The female quickly texted her best friend.

     'Hey, Alfred! I'm not going to be able to join you and Arthur! I don't feel very well right now!  Well, I'll see you tomorrow'  The female sent her friend the message. Not many seconds later, her phone rung and she picked it up. 'That's alright (Nickname)! It's really a bummer you couldn't join me and Arthur! I hope you feel better!- The Hero'

      (Name) didn't text back a reply, she just simply put her phone on her nightstand. Currently, everything looked blurry with tears. Once more the tears cascaded down her bruised cheeks. She buried her face in her pillow and cried herself to sleep.

     (Alfred's Pov!) 

     'She isn't sick! I know she isn't! Stupid Allen! You have no idea how hurt and mangled you've left (Nickname)!' I know she isn't feeling sick. She's probably crying her eyes out right now. I'm not stupid, sure I may not be the brightest soul on Earth but I'm definitely not blind. It was obvious (Name) is going through a lot. Even though I keep telling her to break-up with him, she just wont listen to me!  

      'Allen, you must feel soo satisfied with yourself. (Name) doesn't know what you do behind her back. I bet you feel like some type of man when you beat her around like that! You must like to see her laying face first on the ground. Well one day, one day, all this will come to an end! Just wait until she's had enough, I'll be there to support her. Just you watch.' 

                                                       (Next Day At School)

        (Name) grabbed her books and binders for her first few classes. She slammed her locker shut, but not before making sure her make-up had not rubbed off and that her bangs covered her left eye.

      As soon as she turned around, she found herself face to face with Allen. A small smirk was present on the brunette's lips and his bright red orbs stared at her (e/c) orbs. (Name) didn't exactly know what the churning in her stomach was, love or fear. Suddenly, Allen planted a small kiss on the female's lips. "I love you, (Name)." 

         (Name) smiled, "I love you too!" The female had managed to convince herself the churning feeling in her stomach was love. She couldn't distinguish love from fear.

      What went through Allen's mind when he beat (Name) around was a mystery to Alfred. But, he knew for a fact that all evil doing has a consequence. So, he knew for a fact that Allen was going to pay for what he does to his best friend. (Name) would snap soon or later. He had commented this to Allen once or twice before, but Allen would just laugh it off.

 "(Name), havent you had enough of how Allen treats you?" Alfred voiced his thoughts to his best friend. (Name) looked at Alfred with a confused expression. She knew exactly what he was talking about, she just wouldn't admit it to him. "You know what I'm talking about!" The (h/c-atte) sighed, "Alfred, that was just once! It won't happen again!" They both knew this was a lie. "(Name), we both know that's a lie, but, one day, you're going to snap. We both know it's going to happen. You have to break up with him!" The female remained silent.

       "Who the hell was that guy!?" Furious red eyes glared at the cowering female. "I swear, I don't know him! H-he just walked up to me a-and began to t-talk to me!" (Name) managed to stutter. A growl left Allen's lips. He took several threatening steps towards the scared girl, her (e/c) staring fearfully at him. Every step he took forward, she took one back, until her back hit the wall of her apartment. "Please, d-don't hurt me!!" A smirk played Allen's lips. "It's too late for that doll!" Seconds later a harsh slap rang around the quiet apartment, followed by a sharp cry of pain. Another after another, a new mark was added to (Name)'s collection of bruises and cuts. 

     "S-STOP!!" The cry rang around sharply. The voice was hoarse and rough with pain, the tears continuesly rolling down her cheeks. Anger swarmed Allen's insides. "What?!" "I said, stop! I've had enough! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH YOU'VE HURT ME? WELL, NO MORE, I'VE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH!!!" The female finally snapped, her voice regaining it's previous strength. She let out a small cough before standing up to her full height. Allen stared at the broken female. Another rush of anger flooded his body. His eyes darkened and a cruel smirk formed on his lips once more. He let a growl escape his lips. "Don't worry, you won't have to deal with this anymore!"  

     Suddenly, he took several steps back. Relief filled the (h/c-atte)'s system. The relief was quickly replaced by terror as she saw Allen raise his infamous bloody bat. The nails were coated with rust and blood. Some of the blood newer than other. "Say goodbye, (Name)!" As soon as those words left his mouth, he swung the bat. A sharp cry left the female's lips. The blood began to quickly seep out of the wound, Allen swung it once more. Another tortured cry left her lips. 

   Pain flooded every cell in her body. The blood gushed out of the wound like a waterfall. ''Im going to die! I should have listened to Alfred!'  Her vision began to turn red in the corners of her eyes. Suddenly, darkness ingulfed her. 

               (Alfred's POV) 

   A bloodcurdling screech reached my ears as I walked towards (Name)'s apartment. My blood turned to ice in my veins. As soon as I got to her door, I knocked on the door. No answer. God, no!!! Panic filled me to the brim. Without thinking I kicked down the door. The sight in front of me was something I would never be able to unsee. (Name) lay in a pool of her own blood, the crimson liquid seeping out of a wound on her head. Allen looked on as she bleed out. "YOU ASS!!! GET OUT!" Allen turned his head in my direction. He smirked, "She won't live." And like that he left. I rushed to (Name)'s side. Within a few second, I had the police on the phone.

     As the ambulance drove to the hospital, a small smile reached my lips. "You did it, you stood up for yourself."  The tears that streamed down my face blurred my vision. I couldn't deny I was terrified for my best friend. But, I couldn't help but feel relieved Allen wasnt involved in her life anymore. Now, what was most important was if she would live or die.
